Tropical Dessert Pizza with Minty Nutella (Dining Hall)

Craving something sweet? Try out this nutella dessert pizza I made at the dining hall! All it requires is some fresh fruit, nutella, and whipped cream to make a delicious dessert within  a few minutes!

This recipe was inspired by a popular restaurant in Princeton called Teresa’s, where the chefs prepare unique personal pizzas and fill the dinner menu with a long list of delicious pasta dishes to choose from. One of the main reasons this restaurant is packed on Friday and Saturday nights is due to their excellent dessert menu, which includes a luscious ricotta cheesecake and an elegant strawberry-nutella dessert pizza dusted with powdered sugar.

Since it’s not quite the season for berries yet, I improvised by using fresh pineapple and cantaloupe drizzled with some melted chocolate. Paired with some sliced caramelized bananas, this dessert pizza definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.

1/4 cup pineapple, chopped

1/4 cup cantaloupe, sliced

1 small banana, sliced

1 panini base

1/2 tsp butter

1/4 cup nutella

1/2 tsp brown sugar

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1 tbsp mint syrup (use more if needed)

Toppings: Hershey’s chocolate syrup, Whipped cream, Shredded coconut

  • Spread butter on both sides of panini base. Place base on panini grill until golden brown on both sides (about 2 minutes total).
  • Mix nutella and mint syrup in a small bowl and spread nutella on base. Place sliced fruit on base and top with brown sugar and cinnamon. Place in oven until sugar has caramelized (about 2 minutes.)
  • Remove from oven and top with chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and shredded coconut. Enjoy! 🙂
